This route from Marmaris to Fethiye is unquestionably Turkey's most popular blue cruise. The approximately 200 nautical-mile route is full of pristine bays, ancient ruins, charming fishing towns and luxury marinas. We've described step by step this route — ideal for a 7–10 day programme.
Route Map
Start: Marmaris Marina → Kumlubük → Bozburun → Selimiye → Söğüt → Datça → Körmen → Knidos → Balisu Cove → Göcek → End: Fethiye
Days 1–2: Marmaris → Kumlubük → Bozburun
Leaving Marmaris Marina in the morning, you'll reach Kumlubük in around 3 hours. Famous for its unspoilt beach and crystal-clear sea, this bay is perfect for your first swim. Set off in the afternoon and head to Bozburun, famous for wooden boat building. You can use the small marina here for the night.
Day 3: Selimiye
A short trip from Bozburun brings you to the tranquil Selimiye bay, surrounded by high hills. Eat fresh fish at the village's small restaurants and spend the evening at anchor. Selimiye is one of Turkey's least-known paradises.
Day 4: Datça Peninsula
As you head towards Datça, enjoy the breathtaking scenery separating the peninsula's north and south coasts. In Datça, shop at the bazaar and pick up almond sweets and olive oil products from the locals.
Day 5: Ancient City of Knidos
Ancient Knidos at the tip of Datça is fascinating for both archaeology enthusiasts and nature lovers. The ancient theatre and remains of the Temple of Apollo visible from the boat are perfect for photography. You can snorkel in the clear waters around it.
Days 6–7: Göcek Bays
The 12 bays around Göcek are considered the finest in the Turkish Riviera. Highlights among these bays, each with its own unique beauty:
- Tersane Island: Venetian-era shipyard ruins. Historic atmosphere.
- Cleopatra's Cove: Legendary bathing spot of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
- Bedri Rahmi Cove: Famous for frescoes painted on the rocks by the renowned artist Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu.
- Yassıca Islands: Ideal for snorkelling with shallow, clear waters.
Days 8–10: Fethiye and Ölüdeniz
The route's final stop, Fethiye, with its large marina and bustling bazaar, is one of the best endpoints for a blue cruise. From here you can make a short trip to Ölüdeniz Lagoon, one of the world's most beautiful bays. Swimming in the blue lagoon will be the unforgettable finale of this voyage.
